Candidate firm’s certified professionals must have extensive experience, plus pass appropriate college-level written examinations and demonstrate a practical working knowledge and proficiency in the use of instruments required for the various disciplines. Once having met NEBB’s requirements for certification, a firm must be reviewed and renewed every two years through a recertification process. In addition, each firm must possess a complete set of instrumentation which are in current calibration. Qualified certified professionals must have twelve hours of continuing education in order to maintain certification.
NEBB certified firms also have the option of training and qualifying technicians through the NEBB Technician program. This is another step in NEBB’s continuing pledge to supply highly trained individuals to perform duties in each discipline.
To gain NEBB Certification, individuals must possess specific education and professional experience, and pass comprehensive examinations.
From Building Systems Commissioning to Cleanroom Performance Testing, every NEBB discipline certification has unique prerequisite requirements and is anchored by a specific Body of Knowledge that provides guidelines for curriculum development and exams.
NEBB Certified individuals must remain current with industry trends through continuing education in their related fields.
Firms must first meet the specified criteria for NEBB certification, found here. After meeting the NEBB Certification requirements, firms can apply for NEBB certification in the NEBB discipline(s) in which they wish to become certified. A firm must also select a NEBB Certified Professional as the designated employee within the firm to supervise all NEBB related work.
